POST COVID update

A lot did not happen for about two years (March 2020 through July 2021) due to the Global Covid-19 Pandemic. Slowly, slowly (catch a monkey) things are happening again. It all started back up in the fall of 2021. Below is a conglomerate of games in the Southeast and gigs involving all of us!

2021 notes

*Luca got his first “piper of the day” and first prize, and moved up to Grade 4 Jr for 2022

*Courtney moved up to Grade 3 for 2022

*Noah, Courtney, Luca were all 3 “Pipers of the Day” at Stone Mt. Highland Games

 

 


 

On NAAPD, 2019

We love our time at the North American Academy of Piping and Drumming in Valle Crucis, NC. Sandy Jones is a very special man, his entire family is. He has run this lovely piping and drumming school for a very long time and we are very grateful that for the past 4 summers, one or more of us as been given the opportunity (through scholarships of generous supporters of the Scottish arts) to go to this school. Noah’s start on practice

Noah was with us at the Saint Patrick’s Party at the Parmans. He heard Liam play and enjoyed it as well. I think both of us were pretty excited about the opportunity for him to learn to play the pipes and join the band at it’s start. As stated, this was March 2015.

Noah, age 9, started with the first band rehearsal in May 2015, which was really just practice for him on the practice chanter with Andrea Jones and Scott MacKay from Loch Norman Pipe Band (this is the band and pipers who began this small band) I’m pretty sure Liam and John were the only members at the beginning.
