Ulster Scottish Pipes & Drums at The Worlds – Glasgow 2024

And I get a photoshoot 🙂

Noah and Nina played their first season with this wonderful Grade 2 band out of Philidelphia and had a blast. Tears, time, money, time, money, driving driving driving driving – but ALLL WORTH IT!

The competed in Perth for the European Championships and then at The Worlds in Glasgow over a 2 week span in August 2024.

Below are some of the many photos I took of the band. I also was able to get a photoshoot with Grant Parfery in Glasgow ( to learn some flash skills and get in front of the lens).

some photos from Chicago games 2024 b/c that sunlight.

these last two images are from my photoshoot with Grant Parfery Photography out of Glasgow UK, he’s amazing!! https://www.grantparferyphotography.com/

Recent Piping & Fundraising

Spring 2023 has been very busy for our family with piping & drumming. The kids participated in Wreath’s Across America again – always a moving service. We played at the Camden Irish Festival, for St Patrick’s Day Events and for an Easter Sunrise Service for a church at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens. I led the Loch Norman Highland Games Piping & Drumming Contest along with a group of amazing volunteers (most of my family) and great judges (also the Jimmy McIntosh Open Contest).  Luca played for a local TV spot. It was a beautiful day and things ran very smoothly. The kids competed in solos as well as with their band. I competed with my band as well. I’ve played a couple of funerals. And we continue to rehearse each month for our Queen City United Band as we prepare to travel to Scotland for the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow in August. Fundraising Page is Here! Three of our five children are competing and raising money for their travel and stay. We hope to get this fully funded for them. I am also playing with them and our family will be traveling after we compete to enjoy the beautiful sights of Scotland.

Enjoy the photos!

Mystic Highland Games | Durham, NC

Shots taken by one of my friends, Darrell Thompson (a photography teacher). He and his wife and friends in NC State Pipe Band did a fabulous job running these games for the first time! And also gave competitors high res photos for free!
