Jan 2, 2017 It’s been one year since I picked up a practice chanter for the first time and it feels great to have accomplished what I have so far! I am on the pipes, (still learning how to tune the drones), it’s a bit easier with the EZ drone reeds I just got. I’m hoping to get the new bagpipe from Roddy in February or March. I signed up for my first competition in Grade IV Sr in April and Noah is ready for his first bagpipe competition in Grade IV Jr in March at the Cary Indoor Competition.
I still enjoy playing, it’s hard to get motivated sometimes because it’s such a physical instrument, but it’s very rewarding. It’s always easier with a glass of wine. Piobaireachd is challenging, but also rewarding. The Crunleuths are hard. I’m excited to continue to grow this year!
The Queen City Juvenile Pipe Band is now registered with the EUSPBA and will compete as a Grade V at Loch Norman Games in April!
For my competition I still need to purchase a kilt, hose and all the rest. Noah and I just got our EUSPBA numbers, so we are officially registered! ES0378 and ES0377.
